KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 — Airport operator, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) announced it has partially opened Runway 3 at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) for departing flights beginning yesterday.
MAHB in a statement today said the rehabilitation works for Runway 3, which started on May 11 this year, is on schedule to be completed on June 7 this year and was expected to be fully opened and operational by then.
“The scope of works include pavement overlaying work and reinstatement of infrastructure works such as drainage and earth works,” it said.
To date, it said no flight delays due to the closure of Runway 3 had been reported.
“The airport operator constantly engages with all vested stakeholders such as the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia, airlines and ground handlers to ensure the successful completion of the rehabilitation works as well as smooth flight operations during this period,” it added. — Bernama
