KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 30 — Tourism Malaysia is participating in the South Asia Travel and Tourism Exchange (SATTE 2018) in New Delhi, India, to promote travel here.

The agency’s chairman, Datuk Siew Ka Wei, led the delegation taking part in the exhibition running from today until February 2.

Eight tour agents, nine hotel operators, four product owners, two airline operators, state government officials and Tourism Malaysia representatives will join the effort to promote Malaysia as a premier destination spot.

The efforts at SATTE will complement the ongoing campaign for the coming Visit Malaysia Year in 2020.

India is a prime market for Malaysia, with 638,578 tourists from the South Asian country arriving here in 2016.

Malaysia is priming for VMY2020, which Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz projected will generate RM168 billion in revenue.
