JOHOR BARU, Jan 9 — Seventeen people from six families remain at two flood evacuation centres in Segamat this morning.
Johor Health, Environment and Information committee chairman Datuk Ayub Rahmat said seven residents comprising two families from Kampung Kuala Paya were currently staying at the centre at Sekolah Agama Kuala Paya which was opened at 8.30 am yesterday.
Ten others comprising four families from Kampung Balai Badang were being sheltered at Sekolah Kebangsaan Balai Badang, he said in a statement here today.
The weather in the district is reported to be cloudy and monitoring is being done by the relevant agency on the water level of Sungai Muar which is currently at the warning stage of 8.91 metres. — Bernama
