PADANG BESAR, Nov 29 ― Sixteen people from six families are being accommodated at a flood relief centre at the Mara Junior Science College in Beseri near here.
A statement from the Perlis Civil Defence Force, which doubles up as the State Disaster Management Committee secretariat, said the evacuees were from Kampung Padang Malau and Kampung Padang Malau Dalam.
Perlis Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man visited the evacuees at the relief centre yesterday evening, it said.
The Civil Defence Force advised people whose houses were flooded to notify the authorities. ― Bernama
