ALOR STAR, Nov 17 – The number of flood victims in several places in Kedah as of 8pm continues to decline to 212 compared to 385 people this afternoon.
Kubang Pasu Civil Defence Force officer Capt Kamalruzamal Kasa said three relief centres were still in operation in the district and housed 64 families compared to 109 families as reported earlier.
In Jitra, 158 flood victims were housed at the relief centre at Dewan Kubur Siam, while 24 evacuees were sheltered at Dewan Tokong Cina.
In Malau mukim, 30 people were still seeking shelter at the Kampung Lahar relief centre.
The number of flood victims was expected to continue to drop as flood waters start to recede. — Bernama
