KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8 — The arrests of over 100 individuals suspected of being involved in Daesh militant activities, by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) so far, proved that the Malaysian government is serious in curbing the increasingly aggressive threats of the militant group.

In fact, Deputy Home Minister Masir Kujat said the government would continue to be committed to fighting the group from spreading its ideology and propaganda in the country.

“At the same time, the people must also be prepared to face any possibilities in this world of uncertainty,” he said when opening the International Fire and Security Exhibition and Conference (IFSEC) Southeast Asia 2016 at the KL Convention Centre here today.

He said Malaysia had also collaborated with the United States through the signing of the agreement on enhancing cooperation in Preventing and Combating Serious Crime (PCSC), which provides for the reciprocal exchange of biometric and biographic data and information for law enforcement purposes.
