KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 6 — The charred corpse found behind a water tank near Jalan Bukit Angkasa, Batu Arang, Rawang near here last Thursday is of a man.

Gombak police chief ACP Ali Ahmad said based on the forensic report, the victim was believed to have been dead 36 hours before he was found.

“As of now we can only identify its gender...the investigation is quite complicated as 99 per cent of the body was burnt.

“Police believe that the man was killed at another place before he was burnt at the location,” he told a press conference, here, today.

He said a check around the location the victim was discovered did not reveal any weapons.

Thus, he asked the public who had with a missing family member to lodge a police report to facilitate identification of the victim. — Bernama
