KUALA TERENGGANU, July 6 — The state government will channel aid to victims of the storm that hit several villages last night.
Mentri Besar Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman said the village development and security committee (JKKK) and the officers involved had taken steps to help the victims but it was difficult to get workers to repair the houses due to the Hari Raya Adilfitri celebration.
“We do not want the victims to grieve over their homes which have taken a beating from the storm while celebrating Adilfitri ... we will do our best to cheer them up,” he said when met at his open house, here today.
Ahmad Razif said, about 100 houses were damaged due to strong winds during the storm, especially in Teluk Pasu, Manir and some of the damaged houses were repaired this morning.
“Repair works on the remaining houses are expected to be completed soon,” he added. — Bernama
