SEPANG, Aug 25 — Sepang police busted three gangs, involved in robberies and vehicle thefts with the arrest of 18 suspects, including two women in August, said Sepang district police chief ACP Mohd Yusof Awang.

He said the three gangs not only carried out criminal activities in the Sepang district but also in areas close to Putrajaya, Kuala Langat, Kuala Lumpur, Klang and Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.

The first gang known as ‘Boy Hotel’ comprised four men, aged between 25 and 41, who were arrested at a budget hotel in Dengkil on Aug 8 at about 11 am.

“They’re called ‘Boy Hotel’ because they will rent at a budget hotel for a time if they want to commit robbery or burglary in the area,” he told a press conference at his office here today.

He said during the raid the suspects were resting and police managed to seize several equipment used in robberies, to break into houses as well as several stolen items.

He said with the arrest of all the suspects who tested positive for drugs, he believed the police had solved six cases in Sepang, two in Nilai and one each in Kuala Langat and Putrajaya.

The name of the second gang busted is known as ‘Palani’ gang which is the name of the workshop in Dengkil where the engine and chassis numbers of stolen cars are converted. Police arrested seven suspects, including a woman, aged between 28 to 40, in two separate raids in Dengkil.

“On Aug 15 around 11.30 pm police arrested two suspects, including a woman in a restaurant in Dengkil and found a bunch of car keys and a Perodua Viva.

In a second raid four days later at about 4 pm, five men were arrested in the workshop and police seized three cars, two Proton Waja, one of which was reported lost in Lembah Pantai, Kuala Lumpur and a Perodua Myvi, he said.

On the third gang, known as ‘Lembu Pachitan’, he said  seven suspects including a woman, aged between 24 and 30, were arrested in three separate raids on Aug 12, 14 and 18 respectively in Sungai Nipah, Port Dickson; Kampung Pachitan, Port Dickson and in Klang.
