LONDON, Oct 2 — Potterheads know that Dobby deserves to be free, so it’s no surprise that they are making their feelings known by leaving socks near his case.
Fans visiting the Warner Bros Studio Tour of Harry Potter at Leavesden in London are leaving socks behind at an exhibit that features Dobby, in a mark of protest seeing his freedom.
The news was first pointed out by the Hogwarts Logic Twitter account and J.K. Rowling retweeted it herself.
Dobby was an imprisoned house elf in the “Harry Potter” novels, and house elves in the book’s universe can only be freed when a human gifts them an item of clothing.
Harry famously frees Dobby by tricking his owner into giving him a sock.
