CALGARY, Aug 21 — The iconic corncob-print curtains are there, as are the eye-catching grey-and-yellow floor tiles.

Canadian couple Marcia Andreychuk and Joel Hamilton have “retrovated” their kitchen to resemble that of 742 Evergreen Terrace in Springfield, which you may also know as the address of one Homer Simpson and his family.

Andreychuk, who says she’s attracted to “the quirky”, told CBC News that the kitchen makeover didn’t cost much because “they already had the same bones as ‘The Simpsons’ kitchen.”

“It’s not like we’re ripping the kitchen apart and putting a ton of money into it. We’re taking what’s already here and adding colour basically,” she added.

So she covered their appliances to match Marge’s colour scheme and also managed to recycle many of the materials. Her countertop, for example, only cost C$20 (RM63).

And as the Calgary resident rightly said, “Who wouldn’t want corncob curtains?”
