PARIS, Sept 16 — Carnivorous Hong Kongers may be happy to learn that iconic Parisian steakhouse restaurant Relais de l’Entrecote has chosen to open an official Asian flagship restaurant in Hong Kong, its first in the region.
Located in the bustling Queen’s Road East in Wanchai, the Asian outpost of the iconic French restaurant will replicate the Parisian dining experience where customers sit down to a menuless meal in anticipation of classic steak frites.
Like the Parisian concept, diners will begin their meal with a green salad topped with walnuts dressed in a traditional French Dijon mustard vinaigrette.
Striploin steaks are cooked to individual preference and are served with a side of heaping fries, the restaurant’s ‘secret sauce’ and freshly baked baguettes.
The wine list includes labels from the Relais de l’Entrecote’s family-owned vineyards at Chateau de Saurs in Burgundy, while the dessert menu includes chocolate profiteroles and the Vacherin du Relais, a towering ice cream sundae that sandwiches chocolate and vanilla ice cream between meringue cookies, all smothered in chocolate sauce.

The Relais de l’Entrecote has three locations throughout Paris and another outpost in Geneva and is listed in many a travel guidebook as the go-to restaurant for the classic steak frites meal.
