Islamic leaders in Tracy, California want police to investigate a vandalism attack on a mosque there as a hate crime.

Local media report that mosque leaders say the Tracy Islamic Center was hit by what appeared to be a Molotov cocktail sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning.

The device hit one of the building’s side doors and caused minimal damage, media say.

Religious leaders say they’ve never had problems like this in the past. — Reuters
