KANSAS CITY, July 9 — Creators of the world’s tallest water slide in Kansas have released a video that allows viewers to take a virtual spin on the thrill ride which, when completed, will send adrenaline junkies down a 17-storey drop.
To inaugurate the Verruckt water slide at the Schlitterbahn Waterpark in Kansas City, slide designer Jeff Henry and ride engineer John Schooley took the first human test spin last week, strapping a Garmin VIRB action camera to the raft to capture the footage.
Technical glitches have stalled the opening of the ride, whose name means “insane” in German.
The water slide measures 51m (168 ft) — equal to the Statue of Liberty from her toes to the tip of the torch.
Top speeds are expected to hit 105 kph. — AFP-Relaxnews
