NEW YORK, Oct 14 — Line, one of the world’s most popular social messaging apps is now also one of the most secure.
A new update, announced yesterday, will add what the company is calling ‘Letter Sealing’.
In other words an extra layer of security that ensures if a text or other missive is intercepted between sending and receiving, its contents cannot be unlocked.
The new security feature follows similar moves by other messaging apps including WhatsApp, but Line is taking things a step further by rolling out end-to-end encryption to the iOS, Android and Mac and Windows desktop apps, too.
Letter Sealing will work for anyone currently running Line version 5.3.0 or later on their device. — AFP-Relaxnews
