LOS ANGELES, April 9 — After claiming last year that their feud had been “blown out of proportion”, Dwayne Johnson has offered fans a tantalising hint at what led to the meltdown of his friendship with Vin Diesel.

Multiple entertainment sites had reported that the pair fell out during the filming of The Fate of the Furious.

“Vin and I had a few discussions, including an important face-to-face in my trailer,” Johnson was quoted as saying in a recent interview with Rolling Stone.

“And what I came to realise is that we have a fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach moviemaking and collaborating.”

“It took me some time, but I’m grateful for that clarity,” the star added. “Whether we work together again or not.”

Johnson then went on to confirm to Rolling Stone that he and Diesel’s scenes in The Fate of the Furious were shot separately.

“That is correct,” Johnson said. “We were not in any scenes together.”

When asked where he and Diesel would go from here, Johnson offered an olive branch — with a sting in its tail.

He continued, “I wish him all the best, and I harbour no ill will there, just because of the clarity we have.”

“Actually, you can erase that last part about ‘no ill will’. We’ll just keep it with the clarity.”

Ouch.
