LOS ANGELES, Oct 14 — A music video for False Alarm runs to nearly six minutes long and the first-person treatment depicting a gory, failed heist attempt is directed by Hardcore Henry helmer Ilya Naishuller.
Canadian singer songwriter Abél Tesfaye achieved international recognition as The Weeknd following seven Grammy Award nominations and two wins for 2015 album Beauty Behind the Madness and material taken from it.
He’s already preparing to return with late November’s Starboy, and False Alarm follows on from the title track’s release in September.
Director Ilya Naishuller was widely recognised after steering a first-person, action-oriented music video for his own band, Biting Elbows, and made his feature film debut with R-rated sci-fi actioner Hardcore Henry, starring Sharlto Copley.
His kinetic style is here employed in the telling of a gratuitously violent bank heist gone wrong, as its perpetrators attempt an escape from law enforcement and unforseen circumstances. — AFP-Relaxnews
