LOS ANGELES, Sept 2 — There are a lot of ways to quit smoking, but this version by Colin Farrell sure ranks high in terms of weird factor!

The “True Detective” star recently revealed to Men’s Health the bizarre way he broke up with cigarettes: He apparently wrote a letter to “the Spirit of Tobacco”, threw it in a frying pan, and lit it up.

“I wrote a break-up letter to the Spirit of Tobacco,” Farrell revealed. “I got a frying pan and tossed the letter with a load of tobacco, put some paraffin over it, and lit a match that sent a big, wallowing cloud up into the sky. Then I didn’t have a cigarette for another two years.”

The Irish star also opened up about how raising his two sons, James, 11, and Henry, 5, has taken priority over his career and dating life in recent years.

When asked how he feels about being single for five years, Farrell had this to say: “It’s not that I don’t get lonely sometimes, but I’m okay about it.”
