KUALA LUMPUR, July 22 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia continued upward trading at mid-morning today, lifted by buying interest amid bullish sentiments, dealers said.

At 11am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 3.38 points higher at 1,801.12, after hovering between 1,798.87 and 1,803.31.

IHH Healthcare, the largest contributor to the composite index with 1.173 points, saw its share gaining eight sen to RM4.09, with 1.287 million shares changing hands.

On the scoreboard, the Finance Index rose 6.28 points to 17,267.04, the Industrial Index garnered 6.7 points to 3,052.66 and the Plantation Index added 0.05 of a point to 8,417.98.

The FBM Emas Index rose 15.1 points to 12,558.32 and the FBMT 100 Index advanced 15.87 points to 12,290.65.

However, the FBM 70 Index fell 10.94 points to 14,444.68, and the FBM ACE Index slipped 3.6 points to 4,990.26.

Gainers led losers 289 to 266, while 285 counters were unchanged, 740 untraded and 14 others were suspended.

Turnover stood at 485.241 million shares worth RM382.352 million.

Among actives, Perak Corp rose 20 sen to RM2.74, BAT gained 18 sen to RM60.78 and MMHE expanded 13 sen to RM4.10.

Heavyweights, CIMB added four sen to RM8.50, both Axiata Group and Sime Darby earned one sen each to RM6.79 and RM9.50, respectively, Maxis earned two sen to RM7.05 and Maybank was flat at RM10.64. — Bernama
