KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 — AirAsia group chief executive Tan Sri Tony Fernandes married his Korean girlfriend, Chloe, in France last night.
Malay Mail Online was informed that the wedding took place at Cap Estel, a luxury hotel in Cote de Azure, a posh French Riviera town located 15 minutes away from Monaco.
“Guests included Tun Musa and wife, [Tan Sri] Rafidah Aziz, DS Norza of BAM, Datuk Seri Robin Tan and wife, Tony’s friends and partners, schoolmates and his family.
“150 pax at Cap Estel, Cote de Azure, 15 minutes from Monaco,” a VVIP guest told Malay Mail Online, referring to former deputy prime minister Tun Musa Hitam, former minister Rafidah, Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) president Datuk Seri Norza Zakaria, and Berjaya Corp chairman and CEO Tan.
Rumours about the wedding and pictures of the beaming couple were spread on the internet and shared on messenger applications like WhatsApp.
Fernandes wore a three-piece suit, while Chloe was dressed in an off-shoulder gown with a train.
The couple have reportedly been dating for more than two years.
AirAsia chairman and Tune Group chief executive Datuk Kamarudin Meranun and CIMB Group chairman Datuk Seri Nazir Razak had also attended the wedding, with the latter acting as the groom’s best man.
The CIMB Group chairman had also posted pictures of him, Fernandes and Chloe at the said location on his Instagram account a day before the wedding.
“Nazir Razak was his best man. Also present were Kamaluddin Badawi and wife, Datuk Seri Aziz Sheikh Fadzir, AirAsia directors and founder Pahamin Rejab and top artistes from US, UK and Korea performing for guests,” the VVIP told Malay Mail Online.
