KUALA LUMPUR, June 11 — Singaporean fitness chain True Fitness has announced the closure of all its gym and spa facilities in Malaysia.

The firm ceased its operations in Thailand a day earlier.

“The past few years have proved challenging, and unfortunately, the businesses are no longer financially viable due to evolving market conditions,” True Fitness said in a statement in its website yesterday.

True Fitness said it will not refund customers with new or existing memberships, and that arrangements have been made with Chi Fitness to serve as an alternate gym for affected customers.

Affected True Fitness customers will be allowed to use Chi Fitness facilities other than those in  Bangsar, Bangsar South (Nexus) and the Northern Clubs.

“The validity of these redemptions for membership months and personal training will be for 24 months from July 3 or until all membership months and personal training sessions have been utilised,” the chain said.

However, True Fitness is still looking for a solution for True Spa customers.
