KOTA BARU, March 22 — Salor assemblyman Datuk Husam Musa was given the marching orders by Kelantan State Speaker Datuk Abdullah Ya’kub during the assembly’s sitting today for ignoring Standing Orders.
The former Kelantan state executive councillor was ordered to leave the hall some five minutes before the sitting ended.
This came about after Husam repeatedly ignored the Speaker’s orders not to interrupt Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob who was winding up debate on the motion of thanks for the royal address.
Husam had stood up to question the credibility of state executive councillor Datuk Nassuruddin Daud who had spoken about the “sumpah baiah” (oath of loyalty) taken by PAS elected representatives but Ahmad did not want to give way.
(According to the oath, PAS elected representatives pledge not to leave the party but a number have done so including Husam).
Abdullah then several times ordered Husam to sit and make way for Ahmad but Husam kept ignoring him, forcing Abdullah to take the drastic move.
Earlier, when replying to a question from Tuan Mohamad Awang (PAS-Gual Periok), the state executive councillor in charge of housing told the assembly that failure to furnish the required documents was among the reasons why buyers could not purchase affordable homes built by the Kelantan government.
“Also for employees in the public and private sectors, the salary deductions for their commitments were way too high for them to be able to buy these affordable homes,” he said.
He said 1,628 such units had been built so far, 2,693 units were under construction while 2,818 more were still at the planning stage. — Bernama
