KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 — Pakistan is ready for a high level meeting with Malaysia to further discuss a visa-free regime between the two countries, says Pakistan High Commissioner to Malaysia, Syed Hassan Raza.
He said the abolishment of visa fees would further strengthen ties between the countries, as well as boost people-to-people and business-to-business interaction.
“We will consider this when we have a high level meeting between the two countries...hopefully, this year,” he told reporters after hosting a dinner for the media at the Pakistan Residence here tonight.
Currently, Malaysians fork out RM30 in visa fees to go to Pakistan while Pakistanis need to pay US$80 (about RM356) to enter Malaysia.
On February 25, Malaysian Consul-General in Karachi, Ismail Mohamad Bkri was reported saying there was a need for visa-free regime between Malaysia and Pakistan to enhance the people and business contacts. — Bernama
