KUALA LUMPUR, May 6 ― PAS today announced that vice president Datuk Husam Musa has been expelled for indiscipline.
Disciplinary committee chairman Dr Sanusi Daeng Mariok said Husam's criticisms of the PAS leadership was in breach of the party’s constitution.
“The PAS disciplinary committee has examined the complaints against Datuk Husam Musa and have considered this case from various aspects,” he said.
“Based on the clause 82(6)(d) of the PAS constitution, the party disciplinary committee has made the decision to sack Datuk Husam Musa effective April 23, 2016.”
Husam has been a vocal critic of the party’s leadership, especially in Kelantan, claiming that the PAS state government has failed in implementing the Islamic penal code of hudud.
Aside from this issue, Husam claimed that PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang had planned to work with Umno to form a unity government in Selangor during the 2014 mentri besar crisis in 2014, and alleged that Kelantan was allowing the clearing of forest reserve land.
