KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 ― DAP today accused PAS of failing to take a firm position on the no confidence vote to be tabled against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in Parliament, saying the party has so far issued “ambivalent and ambiguous” answers on the matter.
Asked to comment on the matter during a press conference at the Parliament lobby today, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng directed reporters to speak to PAS instead.
“I think the most important issue with this is where PAS stands. They have shown a very ambivalent and ambiguous attitude when it comes to this.
“The PAS president said wait and see. You need to ask the president what is their stand first,” the Bagan MP said.
Lim, who is also Penang chief minister, said DAP has consistently said it will support a vote of no-confidence against the PM.
On Saturday, PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said his party needs time to weigh the merits of the motion submitted by PKR’s Hee Loy Sian last week.
DAP has accused former ally PAS of harbouring intentions to co-operate with Umno.
