KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 — Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) and express bus operators have now begun offering additional tickets, especially for those planning to use public transport to return to their hometowns for the Hari Raya celebrations.

KTMB Intercity senior marketing manager Mohd Noordin Kimi said the additional tickets offered for trips from July 10 to 19, would also involve the use of two additional coaches.

“A total of 120 additional tickets will be offered daily during the period,” he told Bernama here today.

Mohd Noordin said passengers could purchase the tickets over any KTM Intercity counters, its website or mobile app.

To date, 80 per cent or 180,000 of the 230,000 Intercity train tickets made available during the period have been sold, he said.

As for the Electric Train Service (ETS), Mohd Noordin said 70 per cent or 103,000 tickets had been sold for the period between July 10 to 27.

Meanwhile, the South Integrated Terminal (TBS) senior operations manager Faizal Redza Redzuan said a total of 120,000 bus tickets had been sold for all routes during the festive period.

“However, TBS will provide between 250 to 300 additional buses,” he said.

At Pudu Sentral Terminal, Bernama checks found that tickets for trips from July 14 to 16 were selling like ‘hot cakes’. — Bernama
