KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 16 — A teenager, allegedly involved in a “special relationship” with her relative, was murdered by him yesterday afternoon in front of the Durgayanan Temple at Taman Sri Reko, Jalan Reko near here.

A police source told The Malay Mail that they are investigating the “overprotective” relative of 16-year-old K. Yogiswari.

In the 11.30am incident, Kajang police chief ACP Abdul Rashid Abdul Wahab said the relative had dragged Yogiswari, who was washing dishes with her aunt in the kitchen, to the temple located in front of his house and slit her throat.

After that, he immediately ran to a room inside the temple and slit his own throat.

This was related to the police by the suspect’s 30-year-old son, who witnessed the incident and immediately contacted the ambulance.

Rashid further said in a text message that the case will be investigated for murder and police are currently recording statements from family members.

He said the relative is still alive and is in critical condition at Serdang Hospital.

Neighbours around the area also told police that the girl was often seen with the relative on his motorcycle going back and forth to school.

The relative had apparently been her caretaker for the past three years, while the victim’s parents lived in Klang.
