KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 16 — A remotely-controlled aircraft equipped with a camera found near his home in Cheras has MCA Youth chief Datuk Wee Ka Siong (picture) alarmed into thinking rivals are busy spying on him.
According to The Star on its website today, the former deputy minister said the six-rotor aircraft, commonly known as a hexacopter, was found by his neighbours after it apparently crashed into their home.
“Am I a terrorist? This is an invasion of privacy. They (perpetrators) have no right to do this,” he was quoted as saying in the report.
He said an examination of the camera revealed five recordings that were taken of his home and others in the vicinity.
Wee later voiced suspicions that the incident may be linked to the upcoming MCA election, noting that he was now the victim of a smear campaign online after images of his home were distributed online with the description “Ex-MCA deputy minister 6 millions house in bukit tiara cheras”.
