HULL, July 10 — Spencer Tunick’s latest art installation involved around 3,200 people, completely nude, and painted in shades of nautical blue.
The New York-based artist went to work in Hull in northern England for the big event, inspired by the city’s maritime history.
Hull will be the UK’s official City of Culture next year which appears have influenced some of those who took part.
“It’s something we’ll never get the opportunity to do again and especially, like, in your home city and when it’s going to be the City of Culture an everything next year,” says participant Rebekah Miller.
“I think everyone’s looking forward to, like, the City of Culture next year and what a special year it’s going to be for the city,” says another participant Craig Simon.
The temporary nude installation, commissioned by the city’s Ferens Art Gallery, was photographed and will go on show as part of the City of Culture programme. — Reuters
