KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 17 — Famous San Francisco burger joint In-N-Out might soon be coming to Kuala Lumpur, judging from a recent sighting of the chain today in the city.

Local burger outfit MyBurgerLab posted a picture of an In-N-Out burger on Instagram, exhorting their followers to quickly grab a burger from restaurant Hubba At Ceylon.

“This is the same burger joint in San Francisco that inspired us to start a burger joint in Malaysia!” said MyBurgerLab on the Instagram post.

IN N OUT is in KL! Go check them out at Hubba At Ceylon! This is the same burger joint in San Francisco that inspired us to start a burger joint in Malaysia! #Fanboys #DieloMBLChapLapLo Update: Apparently close by 3pm today.. Sorry for the late posting guys.

Sadly, In-N-Out is only on what it calls its KL Tour, where the outlet sold burgers from a one-day-only popup at Hubba, which closed shop by 3pm today. Burger lovers had, sadly, little notice as apart from random Tweets and Facebook messages, neither Hubba nor In-N-Out did widespread publicity of its appearance.

Likely this is part of the chain’s efforts to test the market and gauge response to its offerings. Even online concierge service Goget.my, which offered to deliver the burgers to customers, only put up notice about the burgers an hour before the KL Tour ended.

Founded in 1948, In-N-Out has more than 200 locations in California, Arizona, and Nevada. The chain is known for its made-to-order hamburgers, fresh ingredients and a service reputation that has won it quite a following, including our own burger afficionadoes MyBurgerLab. Let’s hope In-N-Out makes a more permanent appearance the next time, so burger lovers can have a sampling of its famous wares.
