KUALA LUMPUR, May 12 — Renowned for their fine Chinese cuisine, the Oriental Group of Restaurants clinched 12 awards at the HAPA awards 2023-2024 on Wednesday night.

The group, which started its first restaurant in November 2000, is recognised as the top Chinese restaurant group in Malaysia where they showcase exceptional Cantonese cuisine.

At their 17 restaurants in Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur, they preserve traditional aspects of Chinese cuisine in taste, aroma and style.

Noble Mansion was recognised as one of the Best 30 Restaurants in Malaysia — Chinese Cuisine. Modern Chinese restaurant Ruyi scooped up an award for Best Service Excellence Establishments in Malaysia — Fine Dining Restaurant.

The chefs from the Oriental Group of Restaurants were also honoured. Bangsar’s The Ming Room Chef Vincent Ong was selected as one of the Best 30 Chefs in Malaysia — Chef of the Year, King of Asian Cuisine.

Chef Chan Meng Heng, who helms Bangsar South’s Oriental Treasure, was given an award for Best Chefs HAPA Recognised — Chef of the Year, King of Asian Cuisine.

Noble House, The Ming Room and Ruyi also picked up awards in the Best 30 Restaurants HAPA Recommended — Chinese Cuisine category. The three restaurants together with Oriental Treasure were also honoured with the Resilience Award.
