LONDON, July 2 — Barcelona are set to launch an official bid to prise Luis Suarez away from Anfield when the club’s delegation meets Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre today to discuss a proposed £80 million (RM439 million) transfer, the Daily Mail reported.

Raul Sanllehi, Barcelona’s director of football management will meet with Ayre to discuss their valuation of the disgraced Uruguayan  striker, with the latter understood to be keen to use the meeting as an attempt to land Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez.

While Barcelona are looking to strike a compromise of around £60 million, following his four-month ban from football, the Reds are reportedly adamant that they will only sell if a contract release clause  — in the £70 to £80 million region — is met.
