KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 — Authorities have not travelled to Macau to track down fugitive financier Low Taek Jho, better known as Jho Low, as they are still waiting for a response from officials there, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said today.

“We have written to the Interpol when Hong Kong told us he has left for Macau on a ferry, however we are still waiting for a response.

“We will only send our team over once they can confirm he (Jho Low) is there,” he said after attending the Police Corporation Annual meeting here.

Meanwhile, Fuzi said police have informed seven countries through the Interpol Red Notice to seek Low’s whereabouts.

The countries are Hong Kong, Macau, India, Myanmar, China, Indonesia and UAE.

Police also alerted Taiwan for further assistance through a diplomatic note.

Low was last week able to leave Hong Kong before a Malaysian police team was sent there to question him.
