KUALA LUMPUR, June 1 — Umno Youth vice-chief Khairul Azwan Harun has what it takes to lead the party wing, Khairy Jamaluddin said today.
Khairy, who is the current Umno youth chief, will be vacating his post to contest for the party’s vice-presidency.
Khairy said Azwan has vast experience and proper credentials to helm the position.
“He has good experience and has work tirelessly as the vice-chief. I’m confident he can lead the (Umno) youth wing,” he said.
Earlier today, Azwan had nominate himself to contest the Umno youth chief post, citing his experience as a Senator and Umno youth vice-chief and that he would have the support to carry out much needed changes within the Malay nationalist party.
