KUALA LUMPUR, May 27 — Police have urged Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos to just show up at the relevant authorities, following claims he allegedly absconded from court proceedings last week.

“My message to him; just turn up yourself, that’s all,” Selangor Criminal Investigations Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Fadzil Ahmat told Malay Mail.

Fadzil was not clear where he meant for the Red Shirts leader to go, after Jamal had apparently gone missing from a special court proceeding held for him at the Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital.

In the early morning today, lawyer Datuk Mohd Imran Tamrin said his client Jamal is still unwell and will only cooperate with authorities to complete his bail process after he feels better.

Mohd Imran said Jamal had left hospital in a hurry on Friday, after he was discharged, to take care of work before office hours were over.

Jamal was charged with three separate offences in hospital on Friday where the magistrate’s court offered RM3,000 bail for each case.

He was, however, found missing from Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital by the assistant registrar upon her arrival at the hospital ward that same afternoon.
