KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 14 ― Red Shirts movement leader Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos staged another theatrical protest in front of the Selangor state secretariat building today, this time driving a hearse and attempting to carry a coffin through its gates.
The Sungai Besar Umno chief was reported saying the protest was done over an alleged embezzlement of RM 200 million under a scheme for the elderly by the Selangor state government.
According to a video by portal KiniTV, Jamal, dressed in white, drove the leading hearse himself followed by 15 other hearses.
He later attempted to carry the coffin into the building, while quoted saying that it was “meant for Azmin”, in reference to Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali.
He was however stopped by security officers and police officers, while another group could be heard shouting at Jamal to abandon his protest.

“I tell the state government, don't send minnows like these to face us. Come down on your own and face us,” Jamal said in his speech.
“This is about RM200 million that was swindled by the state government,” he said, before being led away by police officers who urged him to stop his speech.
According to portal The Star Online, Jamal was referring to the state's Skim Mesra Usia Emas programme which was designed to help Selangor citizens above 60 with funeral expenses and other needs.
This was not the first time Jamal had staged an elaborate protest against the Selangor state government ― he had previously came in just towels to protest water shortage, and also brought beds and masseurs to protest against massage parlours.
Last week, Jamal had resigned from Sungai Besar Umno division chief and Sungai Besar Barisan Nasional chairman following an arrest over alleged gang robbery, but his resignation was rejected by Selangor Umno.
