KUALA LUMPUR, July 5 — The Global Movement of Moderates (GMM) Foundation is deeply saddened and strongly condemned the latest suicide bombing in Madinah al-Munawwarah, which was followed by blasts in the cities of Jeddah and Qatif in Saudi Arabia.

Its Chief Executive Officer Dr Nasharudin Mat Isa said the foundation also condemned the violent incidents in Dhaka, Bangladesh and the first ever attack on Malaysian soil, a grenade explosion in an entertainment outlet in Puchong on June 28, injuring eight people.

“To that end, the GMM Foundation calls for a thorough investigation of the incidents, and for the swift punishment in dealing with the perpetrators of these terror attacks which has led to numerous deaths of innocent people.

“These horrific actions stand against the very belief of any religion,” he said in a statement, today.

The GMM Foundation stands in solidarity with the victims and prays for a united front in countering all forms of terrorism and violent extremism. 

The GMM Foundation extends its condolences to the family members of the victims throughout the globe, as well as our prayers to the pilgrims at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.

According to reports, at least four people were killed in the explosion at the Nabawi Mosque in Madinah, Saudi Arabia on July 4 and at least 20 civilians and two policemen were killed by a group of terrorists in Friday night’s attack in Dhaka. — Bernama
