PETALING JAYA, June 29 — A man survived six gunshots after unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on his vehicle at KM3.5 of the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban highway today.

In the 8.45am incident, the 40-year-old victim — a general manager at a massage chair company in Bandar Sri Damansara — was making his way to his office from Desa Petaling when the assailants began firing.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Amar Singh Ishar said the victim sustained two wounds on his hand, two at his neck and another on his chest.

Amar said investigations are ongoing and the victim, who was sent to University Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre, is in a stable condition.

A police source said five casings and a gun were recovered from the scene.

The source said the victim previously lodged a police report over threats related to his lover, a married 38-year-old woman.

“The victim filed a report against his lover’s 54-year-old former employer who threatened to kill him.

“At the same time, his lover was going through a divorce with her husband. However, the husband apparently said he wanted to die with her and refused to part,” said the source.

Police said they are examining security footage in the hopes of identifying the gunmen.
