KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 — DAP's Anthony Loke today attacked the PAS-led Kelantan government and Putrajaya over their alleged failure to move quickly in reconstructing homes for those hit badly by last year’s flood crisis.

In a press conference at the party's headquarters here, Loke claimed the blame game between the two governments had slowed the recovery process.

"Under Impian Kelantan (collaboration between DAP and non-governmental organisations), we have rebuilt 32 out of 45 houses for victims in Kampung Pasir Tumboh since we started in January.

"Unlike federal government, who promised to complete 1,000 houses for victims before Ramadan, only five were completed," the party's national organisation secretary said.

In April, national news agency Bernama reported Putrajaya as saying due to land shortage, they could only rebuild five houses out of the 1,198 units destroyed during the floods.

Earlier this year, the National Security Council (NSC) confirmed the massive flood that hit Kelantan was the worst in the history of the state.

The floodwaters that swept Kelantan and several states, was also considered the country’s worst crisis recent decades, having displaced over 200,000 Malaysians nationwide from their homes.
