IPOH, May 18 — A woman has lodged a police report that her husband sustained injuries while under custody at the city police headquarters here.

M. Pushpa, 37, made the report at the police headquarters about 12.40pm today.

She said, according to the police, her husband, S. Selvakumar, 38, was warded at the intensive care unit of the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital after losing consciousness on May 14.

She said she was “very worried” as Selvakumar was in good health when she met him at the Sessions Court here before he was remanded for a drug offence on May 7.

“On May 15, I tried to lodge a (police) report but was not allowed to... I have thus, sought legal assistance to resolve the matter,” Pushpa told reporters. She was accompanied by lawyer M. Kulasegaran.

She said her husband was detained by the police on May 6, on suspicion of involvement in a drug-related case.
