PETALING JAYA, Feb 14—Malaysians can look forward to cooler days soon, with the Meteorological Department predicting showers to return to most of the peninsula and East Malaysia.
People in the Klang Valley and Negri Sembilan could finally take a break from the dry spell that has hit the nation recently. Both states can expect isolated showers everyday for the coming week.

However, Perlis and Penang will have another week of hot weather, with isolated showers expected only by Wednesday.
Malacca and Johor will experience the most inconsistent weather next week, with rain falling mainly in patches.
The prolonged heatwave, which was close to 40 degrees during the day, had also led to haze reaching unhealthy levels.
On Wednesday, Ipoh recorded an air pollutant index (API) reading of 92 with Shah Alam and Penang at 79 and 78, respectively. The readings were considered moderate.
The Meteorological Department had also reported that as of Monday, 15 areas in the peninsula had not received rainfall for over 20 consecutive days.
Malacca, Chuping and Kluang have remained dry for the past 33 days, Langkawi for 32 days, and Butterworth for 31 days.
