KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 23 - The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) plans to scrutinise two government projects laden with controversy.

The committee said it will be commencing investigations into the Taman Dusun Bandar orchard project in Jalan Bellamy, here, and the Tuna Port project in Batu Maung Penang.

Both cases were highlighted in The Malay Mail previously.

The committee’s deputy chairman Dr Tan Seng Giaw said they planned to organise a visit to the orchard to observe the problems in the park.

“Since it is located in the capital, we too want to find out why the park is not as successful as others.”

In regards to the tuna port fiasco, chairman Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed said they planned to call the parties involved in the case including the Agriculture Ministry and the Fisheries Department.

“We will be in touch with the bodies to brief us on details of the project as well as other projects being carried out,” Nur Jazlan said.
