GEORGE TOWN, Jan 13 — Former Penang Gerakan chairman Datuk Tan Gim Hwa died late yesterday, The Star Online has reported. He was 76.
The news portal quoted Tan’s son Tee Beng as saying that his father had been ailing since May 2013 following a serious of strokes.
The former Gerakan leader was admitted to hospital in George Town last week after having difficulty breathing where he was kept on life support until his family were asked to bring him home yesterday.
Tan leaves behind his wife Quah Mo Sy, three sons — Tee Yong, Tee Wan and Tee Beng — and a daughter Chin Chin.
