NEW YORK, June 20 — Need a recipe that combines the classic taste of buffalo wings and traditional fried calamari?
This clip from YouTube channel Tasty will show you how you can easily prepare this buffalo fried calamari with ranch dip recipe at home.
You’ll need these ingredients for this recipe that serves two: 1 pound of calamari sliced into 1/2 inch rings, 1 1/2 cups of buttermilk, 1 cup of flour, 2 tsp of paprika, 2 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of black pepper, 1 tsp of garlic powder, oil for frying, 1/4 cup of buffalo sauce and ranch dressing for dipping.
Soak the calamari in buttermilk and leave to chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Preheat the frying oil to 350°F/175°C.
Stir together the flour, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder in a large bowl. Dredge the calamari in the seasoned flour, making sure to toss evenly to coat.
Cook the calamari until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes. Remove calamari from the fryer onto a paper towel-lined baking sheet to remove access oil.
Once all the calamari is fried, toss in a bowl with the buffalo sauce. Be sure to toss around until evenly coated. Serve with ranch dressing and enjoy!
