KUALA LUMPUR, June 16 — Malaysian celebrity Mizz Nina is trending on local Twitter after the surprise announcement of her marriage.

Mizz Nina or her real name Shazrina Azman made the announcement via Instagram last night where she revealed her marraige to US-based rapper Essam Muhammad recently.

The ceremony was done in a private setting with the couple’s friends and family.

“Alhamdulillah, with the blessings of our parents, we have both been able to complete the other half of each other's 'deen'.

“We have both dedicated our lives to 'da’wah', we share the same goals, aspirations and are excited for this new chapter in our lives,” she wrote in the caption.

The former singer also shared a photo of her with her husband clad in a white 'jubah'.

“This world is temporary and tomorrow is never promised.

“We understand that marriage is about growing love, finding tranquillity and having mercy and that the ultimate intention should always be for seeking the pleasure of Allah so that we can walk through the doors of 'jannah' together,” she said.

She added that they will be having a private wedding reception soon in Kuala Lumpur.

Mizz Nina’s announcement post has garnered over 200,000 likes with fellow celebrities congratulating her while she is also currently trending on Malaysian Twitter with over 6,000 tweets.

According to American Muslim Futures, Essam is a hip-hop artist based in south Seattle and he’s actively involved in community outreach programmes while talking about relevant issues through his rap.

The rapper currently has two albums on his Spotify page titled 12.12 and Chapter20six.

This is Mizz Nina’s second marriage after her divorce with Hujan band frontman Noh Salleh in August last year.

They couple were married in 2011 and adopted a baby boy named Musa.
