LOS ANGELES, April 5 — US actor Tobey Maguire is set to make his directorial debut by helming an adaptation of the thriller novel Blood on Snow, with Leonardo DiCaprio rumored to star (via Screen Rant).

Maguire’s production company, Material Pictures and Lawrence Grey’s Grey Matter Productions have acquired the screen rights to the film, which will be based on Jo Nesbo’s best-selling 2015 thriller of the same name.

The script will be adapted by the Norwegian author himself, with the story centered on a contract killer called Olav, who, when instructed to murder his adulterous wife, falls into a meditation on death and love, and opts to pursue his boss’ rival.
