Amber Chia in a hijab?

KUALA LUMPUR, June 1 — Amber Chia is the talk of town after she recently donned a hijab in conjunction with World Hijab Day.   

In a posting on Facebook in which she shared pictures of herself in a hijab, the model cum actress wrote: “To wear or not to wear the hijab is a conscious choice for every woman and I believe that it’s a freedom of choice. Happy Hijab Day!”

While many have been supportive of her recent posting, there have been some negative feedback and Amber has backed her move by saying: “The reason for me to putting on hijab is to support World Hijab Day, just like others wearing cheongsam during Chinese New Year. Nothing to do with religion.”
