LOS ANGELES, MAY 22 — Brad Pitt’s ‘World War Z’ sequel has been given a release date.

The next instalment of the apocalyptic action film will hit the big screen on June 9, 2017, Variety reports. Pitt will star in and produce the Paramount Pictures movie, which will be directed by J.A. Bayona, known for his work on “The Impossible”.

World War Z, which tells the tale of a virus which threatens to destroy humanity, raked in over US$540 million (RM1.94 billion) at the box office upon its release in 2013. — AFP-Relaxnews
