NEW YORK, Nov 21 ― The "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" actress and model Penelope Cruz has joined Ben Stiller for a sequel to 2001's oddball fashion comedy "Zoolander."
Stiller will once again direct, reports Deadline, while Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell and Justin Theroux are also expected to form part of the project.
The news comes hot on the heels of successful cinematic release "Dumb and Dumber To," which reunited the Farrelly brothers, Jim Carrey, and Jeff Daniels.
Despite the 20-year-wait since that film's goofy predecessor, it cruised to a US$55 million (RM228 million) take on its US$40 million production budget in the four days since its November 14 release.
Theroux, who guest starred as an evil DJ in the first Zoolander film, and co-wrote "Tropic Thunder" with Stiller and then "Iron Man 2", is providing the script for Paramount Pictures' "Zoolander" successor. ― AFP-Relaxnews
