KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 — When many Malaysians are busy inundating their elected representatives with ideas on the country’s direction, one was more interested in Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar’s sartorial sense and modesty.
Calling in to a talk show featuring the PKR vice-president, a caller who identified himself as “Azrul” said she needed to take better care with her dressing.
“YB’s tudung is sometimes worn mistakenly, you know, the top part (of your dress) is visible,” he said after introducing himself.
Nurul Izzah and the show’s host, Faizal Ismail, appeared taken aback momentarily, before recovering and agreeing with Azrul.

He then went on to explain what he meant.
“This is especially when you wear tight kebaya, we can see the top of your dress.
“We can see your underwear, can see your breasts,” he continued.
Nurul Izzah appeared unfazed by the remarks and thanked Azrul for his input.
